Leather Belt - 1"

After being so impressed with my first Popov order, I returned only ten days later to purchase two 1-inch belts in the same colours. Because the narrower belts use a different design and my first order fit tighter than expected, I increased the size by one inch.

Unfortunately, this order didn't meet the high standard set by my first purchase.

Although the belts are stamped as 37 inches compared with my original 36-inch belts, the leather length is virtually identical. In fact, because the 1½-inch Vanguard belts use a longer buckle, the effective wearing length of these new 37-inch belts is actually shorter. That was unexpected and disappointing.

There was also a cosmetic issue with the English Tan belt. The leather shows visible compressed stripes or indentations across parts of the surface, creating uneven colour variation rather than the smooth finish I expected. The leather itself still feels like good quality, but the appearance falls short of what I received in my first order.

I'm leaving this review because my first purchase convinced me to order again almost immediately. I still believe Popov produces excellent leather goods, but I hope they improve consistency in sizing and quality control so future customers receive the same outstanding experience I had with my initial order.

Its a fantastic colour. Its a dark red wine coloured belt that I give the name Black Cherry. It sounds better. It reminds me of a 76 Challenger ( the car ) with this colour. More black than red. Definately a special colour for me. This is an oil infused combined tanned leather called Latigo leather. Real soft and supple and very durable yet not stretchy. Real happy with my purchase. Also goes great with the brass buckle as an extra accessory. Only wished it was more reasonably priced compared to the standard width belt in this leather. But overall great belt, great craftmanship and quality hardware.

The belt is as I expected it to be the one thing that I’m not pleased about is the smell of the leather. I’ve had it for a while and the smell is still lingering.

My husband loves this belt. Nice thick real leather, with heavy buckle, that’s not going to bend or break. Truly worth the money cause you won’t need to replace it in a year.
